Egale Canada is a national organization committed to advancing equality and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-identified people, and their families, across Canada. Egale has members in every province and territory of the country. Our Board of Directors is comprised of an elected male and female representative from each of six regions of Canada. Egale has intervened before the Supreme Court of Canada in every gay rights case that has reached the Court, including Egan v.

Rainbow Youth York - About Us
Among Friends is a weekly opportunity for LGBTQ refugee claimants to socialize, build community networks, and access information to help with settlement in Canada. Body Love is a series of movement workshops that begin with self-love meditation exercise then move into movement and choreographic mentorship. Youth Mentorship is a monthly program designed specifically for newcomer youth aged who are Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees, residing in Canada for less than five years. The choir promotes pride in musical excellence, and fosters a positive image of common goals of belonging, unity, and empowerment. This phase of the 3 year project, provides peer leaders with 16 weeks of free training opportunities for diverse skill development on various personal and professional development topics — including: cooking, anti-oppression, self-care, team building, harm reduction, HIV, and relevant legislation.

Provide varied forums and resources to assist in the personal development, growth, and contact of its members with the transgendered community. The Ottawa Knights is a Brotherhood which strives to preserve the Leather culture through leadership, camaraderie, education, and Community service. We focus our work on organizations serving seniors such as residential care facilities, service agencies, palliative care services, and homecare agencies. We are building an inclusive community by creating a space for ourselves in this neighbourhood. We are an Ottawa-based network of queer identified individuals who are committed to supporting our community by throwing awesome parties and community events.
About Us The Rainbow Youth, York Region is a free support group that provides an opportunity for queer or questioning youth, 26 years-old and under to meet others and share their struggles, successes and stories. Well, often queer youth have said they felt alone and isolated in York Region, so the RYYR was started to help those with feelings of isolation and to create a sense of community and belonging. The group meets on the first and third Monday of every month except on statutory holidays from 7 — 9 p. Locations may vary, so please call extension 74 for details. Joining the group is free and the program is strictly confidential.
